Rob Webster leads the Maximising the Impact of Teaching Assistants initiative for the UCL Centre for Inclusive Education, and is directing the EEF-funded MITA project that is being run in 128 schools in the UK. Rob has worked on a number of research projects focusing on the use and impact of TAs, including the groundbreaking Deployment and Impact of Support Staff project and its follow-up study, the Effective Deployment of TAs project. He co-directed the Making a Statement study and now the SEN in Secondary Education study, both of which focused on the educational experiences of pupils with SEND. We are absolutely delighted that Rob will be delivering this course for us on all three days.
Teaching Assistants are often not used as effectively as they could be, and schools miss out on a large amount of potential support and expertise from these valuable members of staff. MITA Direct guides school leaders through a process of strategic review and change, helping them to improve the deployment and impact of their TAs.
Each school receives a comprehensive pack of high-quality resources and tools to support the processes of review and implementation.
Who is the programme for?
- School teaching and learning leaders, and CPD leads
- CPD leaders across TSAs and MATs
- Secondary, Primary, and Special School leaders
